I’m Not Afraid of Artificial Intelligence…

I’m afraid of the sub-intelligent having access to artificial intelligence.

The question then remains…what is the measure for stupidity and what is the measure for evil?

Justification is in the eye of the beholder.

    2. Same here. It would probably be worse than what they have in that episode E.O.S of the TV series Thunderbirds Are Go! (2015-present) and the movie WALL.E.

It’ll be used to justify by means of mathematics.

The numbers may not lie, but the people in control of the numbers and the math used, will always lie.

AI is like any other tool, it’s the user that pulls the trigger or types on the keyboard.

I remember, in third grade, learning long division. I was told, as we all are, to put this number here and that number there. I was like “why?” “But why?” “But W-H-Y?” Of course, I finally figured it out.

So many people think all you have to know is to do some steps because somebody told you to—no need to understand the meanings of the steps or why there is this structure. People will actually get mad if they have to deal with an individual who wants to know reasons and definitions.

Now the steps are “enter this in the calculator” and press some buttons. All you (supposedly) need to know is whatever shows up on the screen.

As smart phones get better, people get dumber. Technology may get better over time, but with technology, comes atrophy.

I’m used to people getting mad with me and my questions. I actually enjoy the process of finding a good teacher that possesses patience and understanding.

“That’s how we’ve always dun it” if you don’t know why, then all you’re doing is monkey see, monkey do.

You know what’s also interesting is watching people try to get answers out of Siri or Alexa… it’s like seriously, you think that’s going to get you the information you’re looking for?

I got a buddy at work that uses Siri for everything, “Siri call so and so, siri what’s the weather today” etc.

Saturday he says, “man, this is wild, I was just talking about campers and now all of these camper ads just showed up on my phone”. I said, “what do you expect, Siri is always listening”.

The search engine is only as good as the specificity of the description you enter.
