The Glock and The AR Platforms are Perfect for Beginners

In my humble opinion, if you want to get into guns, start with the Glock or the AR. They are the simplest platforms out there with plenty of free and readily available and accessible information on both.

The aftermarket support is unbelievably plentiful, everything from amazon.com to your local pawn shops and gun stores have parts and accessories for your Glock or AR. Unquestionably, the Glock and the AR platforms are the legos of the gun world.

Easy to take apart, easy to fix. There is no such thing as a truly custom AR or Glock and there is no need for a gunsmith, for either. An novice can assemble a complete AR in under an hour or two. A person who has never touched a gun in their lives can easily repair any Glock with a 5 minute lesson.

If you’re ever interested in learning a new “skill” a simple search on YouTube will turn you into a Glock or AR semi professional, since there are no actual professional skills needed for either, just a willingness to learn and try.

Before you know it, you’ll be telling your friends how to fix their Glocks and ARs.

It would be nice if everything in this world was as simple as the Glock or the AR. You could literally fix everything yourself.

The 229 is a proven platform. Hope you get to get one when you finally move to NC Britchy!!!

It is a buttery smooth action and the DA/SA is a wonderful option to have.

          9mm I presume?

          1. Yes a 9mm. I have a friend who’s a retired sheriff. He runs gun safety classes and I have had a lot of advice and facts from him too. I will definitely take a class because it makes absolute sense to get all the info possible

  1. You can’t go wrong with a glock.
And YouTube is just phenomenal. I personally don’t use it all that much, but it’s amazing how people fix things by themselves with just those videos.

    1. bottomlesscoffee007

Ha, I never said they were perfect (which they are)! Just that they are the easiest way to start to understand how semi autos work and function.

      1. definitely something glitching on your site …

I see two replies from you.

Yes, they do, and bathrooms also kill people but unlike firearms they are not designed to kill.

        1. bottomlesscoffee007

All comments go to moderation. For some reason your first comment went to spam, so I pulled it out and responded.

          Do you have any firearms?

          1. Something is glitching as my comments are not showing anywhere

            until they are released .
I can only see that I have commented from my blog.

There is no comment drop down in the top right hand corner of your blog

            1. bottomlesscoffee007

I don’t understand what you are talking about? Comment drop down in the top right hand corner?

The comments are below each article, pertaining to those articles.

              1. Yes, but your page should have a black band directly under the Header that includes – from left to right – the WordPress logo with the words My Sites then Reader and on the far right the Write logo and my Gravatar. Next to this should be a icon of a silhouette of a bell. This is the comment drop down. It does not appear on your blog.
On everyone else’s blog it is there.

                1. bottomlesscoffee007

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up. This is the first time I am hearing about that. I’ll look into it.

Do I need verbiage that states “my sites” if I only have this one?

                  1. Have no idea. Look at another blog – and you will see what I am talking about.
Maybe it has something to do with your settings?
                    Maybe you did something accidentally?

                    1. bottomlesscoffee007

When I get a chance, I’ll check out your home page (when I’m at a computer) hopefully then I will see what you are talking about.

                    2. bottomlesscoffee007

All comments go into moderation. It is much easier to track them and ensure I respond to each one. Try it out.

                    3. Nonsense. I have been blogging for years.
                      Moderating comments just frustrates dialogue.
And maybe this is the reason there is no comment drop down if all comments are moderated.
Adjust your settings. It makes for adult dialogue rather than feeling like a Nanny is monitoring what is allowed to be viewed.

                    4. By allowing comments to appear without going to moderation.
You want to build your readership, then stop being a nanny and simply allow comments to go straight through.

                    5. bottomlesscoffee007

Why does this bother you so? It seems like you are simply looking for reasons to complain.

                    6. You stated there was no censorship and no banning.
Moderating comments is a form of censorship.
Should your local Newspaper be vetted by the Governor before it goes to press?
Stop being a child and adjust you comment settings.

                    7. No, it is your problem, especially if you wish to build a larger following.
You have already demonstrated your deceit by claiming no censorship, so why would anyone want to invest the time reading and following your blog when you can’t even respect those that bother to comment?

                    8. bottomlesscoffee007

again, this is your problem, not mine. I haven’t had a problem yet. On the other hand, it seems that all you do is run into problems.

        2. bottomlesscoffee007

So “accidents” don’t matter in your mind? Even if they are much more dangerous? Even if they kill more?

          1. You are missing the point.
People die tripping over a kerb, bit we don’t pick up kerbs and kill others woth it on purpose. Or not a a rule.
Firearms in the case of the Glock for example are designed specifically to kill another human being.

            1. bottomlesscoffee007

No, they are designed to protect and defend.

People have been killing people with bricks and stones and clubs for thousands of years now. A kerb as you put it is made of stone, so yes, people have killed people with stones.

Do you live in South Africa?

                  1. I am not disputing this.
29,000 kids die every day from preventable diseases.
But the firearm, and particularly a hand gun such as the Glock, when loaded with live ammunition, is specifically designed to wound or kill another human being.
                    This is it’s function.

                    1. bottomlesscoffee007

But, people kill other people everyday. Everything is a weapon in a self defense setting. Do you not think that people have a right to self preservation and self defense?

                    2. Yes, they do. Of course.
Firearms just make the jog of killing another human being that much easier.
As you have described in you post about how simple the Glock is.

And the stats regarding gun related fatalities speak for themselves.

                    3. bottomlesscoffee007

They are low compared to medical causes, venom and horsepower. Guns aren’t a problem, people are the problem.

                    4. In that case what is wrong with Americans, and how is the massive proliferation of guns, and the farcical laws governing gun ownership helping?

                    5. bottomlesscoffee007

Do you live in South Africa? I hear that place is incredibly dangerous and guns are highly regulated.

At least in America, we have the right of self preservation and self defense from criminals and our own government.

I bet you would love to live in America.

                    6. Again, you are avoiding the question.
If guns are not the problem then what is the matter with Americans, or American culture/society?
You live there so you must know, surely?

                    7. bottomlesscoffee007

America? How is America the problem when Africa has a huge problem with terrorism FGM and other sorts of torture and murder.

                    8. Again, you continue to avoid the question.
We can talk about Africa later. Maybe you could do a post?
You have stated that guns are not the problem but people.
I simply asked what is the problem with Americans or American culture that it fosters an environment where you have one of the highest number of gun related fatalities in the world.
You live there, what’s your take on this?

                    9. bottomlesscoffee007

Are you retarded? There are more gun related fatalities in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia. Practically everywhere except America. America has the lowest gun related fatalities in the entire world.

                    10. bottomlesscoffee007

Yeah, JAMA is a propaganda. Of course they would say that. Check your sources, ensure the validity.

If America is so dangerous, why does everyone in the world want to live here?

                      It’s common sense.

                    11. bottomlesscoffee007

The best source is the immigration line waiting to get in. Your country seems to be experiencing an exodus, whereas America has always been the place that everyone wants to live.

Please, don’t try to pass off information that you haven’t gathered yourself. That’s fraud, since you cannot speak to its authenticity or accuracy.

                    12. bottomlesscoffee007

Here we go. I take it, that wasn’t the answer you were looking for? Why can’t you accept the truth?

                    13. bottomlesscoffee007

You can keep on commenting, but it doesn’t make a difference. You’re just espousing more propaganda and unfounded myth.

                    14. So basically, you consider all these people who compile these stats are liars …
                      Fair enough.
Please provide the accurate stats on gun related fatalities in the USA .
                      Thanks.

                    15. bottomlesscoffee007

Hahaha, oh man. I really don’t know what to say. I guess you believe everything you’re told!

                    16. No at all.
Although I did initially believe you when you claimed no censorship.
Are you going to provide accurate stats on gun related deaths or at least explain why the US culture has such a high per-capita death rate from fire arms?

                    17. bottomlesscoffee007

You could use google to search it. Seriously though, it’s rather nice that you think America is so dangerous, hopefully that means you will never come here.

Please, never change your mind about America.

                    18. I used Google initially.
But as you consider me to be retard I was relying on your obvious expertise in these matters to provide reliable info.
Do have any or are you merely sucking things out of your thumb?

                    19. bottomlesscoffee007

You’re hilarious. Are you just looking at numbers alone? Do you add in suicide? Do you look at the motivations and history as well?

                    20. Again, this is what I was relying on your obvious expertise.
I read the stats which cover gun-related fatalities.
I know how to read the stats that popped up.
You say they are basically lying – an exercise in propaganda.
                      Fair enough.
As you seem so sure then please stop pissing about and provide the accurate stats that cover gun-related fatalities, including all the criteria you consider to be relevant.

If there is anything in this comment I have failed to make clear for you let me know

                    21. bottomlesscoffee007

Yeah, where do you get your statistics? What is covered in these supposed statistics? What is left out of your statistics? You talked about JAMA, what is their motivation for doing these studies?

The immigration numbers in America and the caravan prove that America is the safest country in the world. No other nation experiences the same phenomenon when it comes to people wanting to live here.

Nobody wants to live in a dangerous country, everyone wants to live in the safe country.

Take it for what it’s worth.

                    22. So, because you have been caught with your weapon in your hand you are not going to even attempt to back up your continual vacuous assertions with evidence.

                      Fair enough.
                      Your comments speak for themselves.
                      T’ra

                    23. No censorship?
                      Right!
                      Comments not appearing once more.
I cannot abide such idiotic blog management.
You will have to play with yourself I’m afraid … or your Glock.

    1. bottomlesscoffee007

Doctors and horsepower kill more everyday around the world than gunpowder.

Why do you want to kill other Arkenaten?
