Buck was really good. His story resonates with me quite a bit.
You have a major radio voice.
Two things though – the length of the podcast and your “yea/ right/ uhum” in the last 20 minutes. Just something to think about.
A great episode!
Thanks for the shout out it was really cool. And to be featured in the same episode as glory holes… Priceless!
Yeah, it was a great interview.
What specifically about the length? Too long or too short?
You got that right. I’m working on cleaning up my idiosyncrasies. It’s tooooo noticeable.
You gotta support the sponsors!!!
So happy to have you back Goldie.
It was a bit too lengthy in my opinion. I think you could have fit it in 30-45 min.
But I’m curious – How scripted are those interviews/ podcasts? Do you have a general outline? Or everything? Or nothing?
Nothing. I specifically tell my guests to choose whatever topic they want, and that we will not discuss it prior to the actual interview.
I want to capture an honest and organic conversation. Hopefully you the listener can pick up on this and feel as if you are a fly on the wall just listening in to two people simply shooting the breeze and having great discussions.
Instead of a script or an outline, I see everything as a springboard into something else. I never know what will happen and neither do my guests. We just talk, plain and simple.
That’s awesome.
Btw, it’s great how aware you are of non- military listeners (i.e. when you ask for definitions of certain things Buck talked about).
Thanks Goldie, I’m trying to entertain as many as possible. I still need to schedule a woman to interview, so far all the guests I have lined up are all men.
I’m also trying to get a friend of mine to write some posts and do a few broadcasts in Spanish.
I want to see how much I can grow this.
You’re just a chauvinistic pig. Aren’t you? Not allowing women on your show?
I’m impressed with how driven you are with all this. You’re fairly new to all this (Am I right?), and yet, you’re spreading your wings already. Well done, and keep at it!
I am a chauvinist Goldie, thanks. I was hoping it would waft through everything I’m doing!!!
Thanks Goldie, I just got an idea not too long ago and I want to try it out at least. Maybe it will grow maybe it won’t. But in the meantime, it doesn’t cost me anything and who knows. Maybe one day, it might just all come together somehow.
Speaking of which, I’d really love to interview you on my podcast.
Honestly, you, Britchy, Rakkelle, Rue and JM are the first bloggers that really started to engage with me and haven’t stopped yet! It would truly be an honor to interview all of you.
Hmmm… maybe I could scramble my voice…
Perhaps or you could hire a surrogate! Like “Larry Middleman”.
YAS!
LOL
And Victoria
Just like two people sitting at the bar in the afternoon, sipping on their beers and just basically talking shit and seeing where it goes.
You and your sponsors…LOL!
LOL. I’m glad you enjoy them
“Without failure, you never know when you succeed” – love this statement and very true! I really like this podcast. Though, the podcast could have been shorter, but never mind.
Actually, what Buck says about failure reminds me of what Charles Ingalls said in the TV series “Little House on the Prairie”. He said that “I think God gives us the bad times so that we can appreciate the good ones” or something to that effect.
Thanks Rue.
