Bread and Circuses

Bread and Circuses. Nothing is ever free. There is always a cost and a compromise. The more we think things change, the more they remain.iu.jpeg

  1. I remember that was discussed in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay” book, as Suzanne Collins (author) had many Roman influences. It was discussed when someone was explaining to the main character – Katniss Everdeen – about the purpose of the twelve districts of Panem.

      1. Neither have I. I have only read the books (which I consider to be one of the greatest fiction trilogies EVER). BTW, regarding the above mentioned conversation, the person explaining it to Katniss used the term ‘Bread and Circuses’ when talking about the districts.

Ok. For some reason “we” fall for it every time. All that is required is a minuscule buy in from “us”, pathetic.
