The Major Difference Between Men and Women Concerning Social Media and Online Dating

So, I’ve read a few blogs so far from female writers talking about how they are either harassed or stalked online. I haven’t found any men writing or talking about this though. If it happens to a man, from what I can tell it’s usually an ex or human traffickers.

Here are the blog posts I have read.

What are your thoughts on this matter?

These are the last three that I can find.

Does this happen to men as well?

I haven’t been dating for almost two decades now, so I am unfamiliar with the whole “online dating” thing and this is my first venture into social media as well.

The whole thing seems incredibly foreign to me.

  1. There was one guy that I met while I was dating, who told me a story about having to call the cops on a woman he met a few months before me online. She turned into a full blown stalker, she even found out where he worked and showed up at his job….He couldn’t get rid of her so he sought the help of the authorities.

It’s a mantra that I say to myself constantly. “It doesn’t happen until it happens, don’t get too comfortable”. It has saved me more than once

      1. Some stupid woman I’ve never even met – but she’s cracked. I knew her husband 30 years ago when we were teens. I haven’t seen him since and haven’t stayed in touch but apparently, I’m a threat. 🙄 I wouldn’t know him if I passed him on the street.

          1. No but she managed to contact friends and family, create fake accounts as my family members, fake LinkedIn profiles, contact employers – you name it, that witch has done it. She’s been doing it for almost ten years and she hasn’t got fed up yet.

At least you got a handle on it. Its because of my distrust of the government and corporations and my understanding of how evil the human spirit can be, that prevents me from putting my info or pictures out there. I know that my information is out there after being in the military so long. But I try to control what I am willing to put out there.
