Reader Request Friday, 9 November 2018

Thanks to everyone who participated in the very first BC007 Reader Request Friday.

PKADAMS over @ had the most votes for her topic of choice, which was unfortunately me!!!! So, without a due, lets rip this band-aid off!!!

Be sure to check out PK’s blog, I think she is a runner and a cancer survivor. Sometimes she has some interesting stuff other times, not so much for my taste. But, she is doing what she wants. Keep it up PK!!!

PKADAMS over @ asked the following questions:

*Q1. Who are you and what are your goals and reasons for this blog?

*A1. I will not divulge my name, I know lame right. Well I have a very specific reason for this, for one, I have a life, that I want to keep private. I understand the ramifications of speaking freely and I refuse to be silenced. I will not allow my family to be judged on my actions. I also know this may be cowardly. But, I also know there are a lot of sick people out there that would love to hurt me and my family, so I cannot say my name.

My reasons for this blog are quite simple. I want have discussions and conversations with others. I know what I write may cause controversy, anger or even frustration. I have been blocked by multiple people and groups, from what I can tell, because I wouldn’t “drink the kool-aid”. Then again, I could be completely wrong. I think deep down inside people everywhere just want to be left alone enough to do what they want to do, without being judged or persecuted.

The truth of the matter is, you cannot be truthful with who you are, since we all lie throughout the day. Whether it is to avoid conflict, we are afraid we may offend someone we love or care for, or even more catastrophic, we may lose our jobs or even our way of life, once everyone else found out the truth about our true thoughts and feelings.

I think we all have this one thing in common, we desire peace in our own lives. We all want to be left alone to do whatever we want. Society along with the government, laws, banks and heath care always gets in the way and threatens our dreams of one day, being truly free.

So, I started this blog, to speak my mind and invite others to do the same. If you want to say something, say it. You can comment anonymously or you can put your name or whatever name you want. I want to speak freely, openly and honestly, and I hope others will enjoy this as well.

*Q2. What is your background?

*A2. I grew up in a small town, good parents, strict parents and few siblings as well. Once I graduated from high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as an 11M Mechanized Infantryman, later became an 11B Infantryman. I did a career in the military, a few tours in Iraq, some in Afghanistan, I was able to help out in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Retired a few years ago, and now I’m in construction. No college, barely passed high school.

*Q3. Do you have children?

*A3. Yes.

*Q4. Married?

*A4. Yes, got it right the first time and she is a smoking hot piece of ass!

*Q5. Age?

*A5. Old enough to retire from the military without being decerped.

Rakkelle over @ asked the following questions:

*Q1. Which state do you live in?

*A1. Because I value my anonymity Rakkelle, I will not say. But could be the continental lower 48.

*Q2. What kind of work do you do?

*A2. Consultation one could say if I wanted to sound fancy, construction.

*Q3. How old are your children?

*A3. They still live at home with me, that’s as far as I will go with that.

*Q4. Why don’t you care about slavery? Does that mean you don’t care about the human condition?

*A4. I never said I don’t care about slavery, quite the opposite actually. I don’t care when someone speaks at me about slavery. Because slavery is used as a weapon to force guilt onto people that never had a part in slavery. The people who always speak about slavery, do so to enslave others in fear of speaking out. They will say, “you don’t want to hear about slavery, well you must be pro-slavery then”. How many people want to hear or witness public executions, what about child sex abuse, what about someone being beaten to death? These are very important issues that many avoid.

Plus, all of the major discussions concerning slavery, are not very accurate. Did you know that the only reasons Africans were sold into slavery, was by other warring African tribes? They sold off the warriors of the other tribes that they had conquered. Did you know that the Native Americans had slaves? Do you know about the Barbary Pirates? Do you know that Islam still has slave trades and open slave markets in Africa? What about the slave labor in Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates, even Dubai has slaves. All of this slavery still happening and somehow, because of my skin color I’m supposed to be interested when our own history about slavery in the U.S. is not even factual? It’s a bullshit argument from the get go Rakkelle.

*Q5. Are you a Democrat or Republican?

*A5. I’m an American, plain and simple. I do not care for either party. Two wings same bird. If you think they are different, take a closer look.

*Q6. How did you come up with your WordPress handle?

*A6. I like coffee and I think James Bond is cool. Also, coffee is what the patriots drank, since the crown taxed tea. The crown didn’t tax coffee, it’s a small way the colonies defied the crown.

*Q7. How old are you?

*A7. Old enough to retire from the military.

*Q8. Are you friends, I mean real friends, with anyone considered a minority?

*A8. Maybe, I don’t have that many of what I consider friends. The term friend is entirely too easily used, like love and hate. Anyway, I probably only have anywhere between 5-10 actual friends, some are black, some spoke Spanish as their first language. We became friends in combat, I know I can count on them just as I know I can curse them. I consider em brothers anyway, I don’t know if they consider me the same, but it doesn’t matter, I’m here for them anytime, day or night and they are there for me in the same way. But, I got white friends too, just no women friends. My wife has women friends. I ain’t got no need for any women friends, I already got my wife as my best friend.

*Q9. What’s your favorite genre of music?

*A9. Gosh, I really don’t know. I like rock, rap, country.

*Q10. Did you vote today?

*A10. I voted on the 6thof November.

Britchy over @ asked the following questions:

*Q1. What was your favorite subject at school?

*A1. I hated school, couldn’t wait till it was over. I honestly don’t think I enjoyed anything about school.

*Q2. Do you like to read and if so what genre/authors?

*A2. I used to looooove penthouse letters, but that was when I was young and in the military. Helped time go by in the field. I’m really not a reader. I’ve been reading the KJV Bible but other than that, I am more of an observer than a reader.

With that being said, I will admit, I do enjoy reading and commenting on people’s blogs. I think in enjoy the interaction most of all.

*Q3. Do you have any pets?

*A3. Yes.

*Q4. Are you a DIY-er?

*A4. Only on a few things, I’m not that handy. I’m always worried I’m going to break something and I will have to spend even more money on fixing what I had set out to in the first place and fixing whatever else I may have damaged or broken.

*Q5. Can you drive a stick?

*A5. Yes, I can, glad I learned as well.

*Q6. What’s your favorite 3 course meal?

*A6. I really don’t know, never had a three course meal. I like chicken nuggets, cheeseburgers, fries, steak, salad, sweets. I’ll basically eat anything that smells good or on a dare. I ate a live scorpion in Thailand during a training event.

*Q7. Would you like to be famous?

*A7. Nooooo, quite the contrary. If I had my druthers, I would live on the side of a mountain, completely cut off from society. But, my wife won’t let me.

Victoria over @ asked the following question:

*Q1. Name you actually go by, not full name (I’m not THAT intrusive)?

*A1. I cannot say Victoria, unfortunately, the world we live in, I’d rather not invite that unwanted attention into my life.

*Q2. Branch of military?

*A2. U.S. Army

*Q3. Years of service?

*A3. 20+

*Q4. MOS (all of them, if you shifted around)

*A4. Started out as 11M, around 2000 the Army got rid of 11M, so I became an 11B.

*Q5. Year of birth & astrological sign (again, not that intrusive)?

*A5. I cannot say Victoria. This whole “(again, not that intrusive)” I’m starting to see a pattern.

*Q6. Vehicle you drive & vehicle you dream about?

*A6. I drive a truck and one day I would like a “Heavy Duty Truck”.

*Q7. Where did you meet your wife (and, something a little more specific than “a building”)?

*A7. At a disco-tek in Germany.

*Q8. Boxers or briefs?

*A8. None.

*Q9. Right handed or left handed?

*A9. Right for most, left for others.

*Q10. Most embarrassing moment?

*A10. Probably shitting my pants in the field, burying them so no one would find out. Then the next morning, discovering that the others had found out, they took a picture of my soiled britches, told the chaplain that I may be having problems. Once everyone in the company found out, it was hard to live down. But thankfully, in the military, there are plenty of boneheads that mess up fairly regularly, so my humiliation only lasted as long as it took for the next person to mess up and everyone to find out. About 24 hours at most anyhow.

Vapor over @ asked my opinion on the following:

*Q. I contend that the evident extreme insanity of the minority party and their accomplices in the media is related to the idea that if it becomes apparent to many that conservative/classic liberal ideas will result in unprecedented growth and prosperity, causing extreme left-wing ideas to be buried for a generation.

*A. I don’t know if that is a question or a statement. I don’t know to be honest Vapor. I think the left is just as culpable as the right. The left seems overbearing at times, but I think that’s only because we pay attention to them more than we do the right. The left may own 99.99% of all media and entertainment, but I would counter with the right owns 99.99% of the firearm manufacturing in the nation. I think it’s very dangerous to look so hard in one direction. The problem lies in that we have bought into the left’s idea, we have bought into the left’s idea of banking and working and healthcare, meanwhile the right is there with them. In unison, they divide us so they all can become richer.

The extreme left is the same as the extreme right.

I don’t know if I answered your question or not.

Ivor over @ wanted to talk about the Late Great Leonard Cohen.

*A. To be quite honest Ivor, I had never heard about Leonard Cohen before you wrote about him last week. I started to listen to his music and he has an incredible voice. I am really enjoying listening to his raspy yet hypnotic relaxed voice. Thanks for introducing me to Leonard Cohen Ivor, I cannot thank you enough.

Rue over @ wanted to know my thoughts on the following:

*Q. What are your thoughts on Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the Aussie PM – Scott Morrison – thinking about doing the same?

*A. As crazy as it is to believe Rue, most all “Leaders” have absolutely no idea what they are doing, no matter what anyone tells you. A leader is usually more lost than those they lead, leaders are just good liars. Maybe the Aussie PM just needed someone else to do it first. A true leader leads, the leaders of today take too much time and money to lead. You either do it or you don’t do it, it’s as simple as that.

Thank you to everyone who participated. This was incredibly entertaining and I got to learn about Leonard Cohen, I had to read up on the left and the minority and I got to learn about the Aussie PM Scott Morrison. Now, time to pay it forward.

I challenge each one of you who asked a question to conduct your own Reader Request. Engage your readers and ask them what requests they have for you.

  1. Well done as I stand in ovation…Thank you for your service. Thank you for your response to my assertion. I failed to elaborate that, as you allude “wings of the same bird” with in our own government on both sides, are those that wish for a complacent permanent dependent class that needs the state to function and “feel safe” If many would discover that without intervention we all could thrive and help each other, the state would become irrelevant-their greatest fear

  2. You did extremely well with the great questions given. I read every word. Had no idea you were in the military. Happy Veteran’s Day to you and thank you for serving. My Dad was a military man himself, the Army as well.

I may have misread your entire slavery post because I could have sworn you ended that post by saying something like “Why should I care about slavery?” Especially since you, were a poor white boy growing up and as far as you know your family didn’t own any slaves but anyway you explained yourself thoroughly in your response and I get it….To answer your question, yes I am well aware that slavery still exists in several parts of the World.

The fact that you mention not having any women friends is ironic because my husband and I had a similar conversation just this past Sunday. A male acquaintance of ours had a football viewing party and there were quite a few females there. He introduced them as “his friends” while his wife agreed that she didn’t really know them, not as well as ‘he’ did. All of that triggered a conversation between my husband and I on our way home. My husband couldn’t comprehend why the guy half of the couple had any female friends. He has none and doesn’t want any. My position was that there is nothing wrong with guys having female friends (especially if you work with them) but my husband contends that “isn’t really cool” and that he doesn’t want any female friends, he’s got one already. Me! Who happens to be his best friend. I said all of that to say that what you said resonated with me because my husband feels the same way. I think it’s adorable and loving 😃.

Now I know why German food is your favorite. 😉

All the questions I didn’t expect you to answer you didn’t, and that’s cool. I respect your anonymity and privacy but don’t expect me to engage you in political discourse when I’m not anonymous because I simply can’t risk it either. With that said I will happily accept your challenge of participating in a Reader Request Friday, just tell me what to do….Do I just post a spiel about it on my page and invite people to ask questions on any topic or do I answer the questions I asked of you?

Great read, 007. Despite you always saying you’re not interesting, I beg to differ.

    Happy Friday!

    1. bottomlesscoffee007

Wow, thanks Rakkelle. I completely understand you wanting to avoid politics.

Thanks for reading everything, this was the first time a post has taken over an hour to compose.

I did say that at the end of my post about slavery. But thanks for letting me explain myself a little clearer.

Hmmm, what should Rakkelle write about?

How about this. From what I understand you are from the islands originally. I would like to hear the story of you growing up in the islands. When and why you moved to NY and what the transition was like. What do you miss about the islands and how often you go back there. Also, how have you taught your children about the traditions of the islands?

Will you invite your other readers to make requests as well?

      1. Of course, I will. I think that’s how you want it done, right?

So do I do my island post today (this weekend) included with an invitation for others to post questions to me or do I answer your questions with everyone ekse’s next Friday?

          1. Btw, do I mention my topic for next week here? Or did you create another post this week for next Friday’ responses? I might have missed it I have been at work all day.

  3. That was a great read! I don’t feel the need to know the outside you, I’m getting a good handle on the inside and that’s far more important.
I can’t ask you to make next weeks topic fashion – as hilarious as I think that is! You’re too Male in my mind for that but I did burst out laughing thinking about it!
I think next weeks topic for you should be Entertainment

    1. bottomlesscoffee007

Ok, that entertainment for Britchy!!! Thanks for reading.

Will you be doing your own reader request for your own readers Britchy?

Anything specific within the entertainment realm Britchy?

    2. bottomlesscoffee007

I can do fashion though Britchy, as well. If you’ve been reading my posts for awhile now. You would have realized in a huge admirer of women in all forms!

        1. bottomlesscoffee007

LOL. See that’s where your husband and I differ. If it was up to me, I would shred all of my wife’s clothing. That way she would have to be, let’s say “natural” all day everyday!

            1. bottomlesscoffee007

My wife can do whatever she wants. Plus, if she wants to flaunt what she’s got, she’s gonna have to deal with me being all over her.

I’m so disgusting, that many would run away from her once they saw us together!

                1. bottomlesscoffee007

My wife is always asking my age and asking why I don’t act it actually. She’s like a judo master, always swiping my hands away, sometimes without even looking!!!

                    1. bottomlesscoffee007

She lets me cop a feel ever now and again. The other night she asked me what will we don one the kids finally move out. I told her that she will have to lock herself in a room, because I will be on the prowl 100% of the time!!!

                    2. bottomlesscoffee007

Pray for my wife, she had no idea what she was getting into when she chose to marry me!!!

  4. Wow, thanks for the shout outs! I wasn’t expecting that. Thankfully I am not a cancer survivor, unless you count a little benign skin cancer that I had removed this year. I do have a special needs child, so maybe that is what you were thinking. Anyway, thank you for answering my questions ! I was thinking about anonymity and do we little bloggers really need it, are our words that important? But in this day and age, you never know who might take offense and decide to hurt you. You may run for office someday and everything you ever said or did will be put under a microscope. Or even just for a job. I have some topics I would love to discuss but I avoid because my views are considered controversial. Thanks for serving our country. Freedom is my number one value even though I consider myself a slave to Christ. I do not like anyone controlling me. I have a few guesses about you. Scorpio, Texan or other Conservative state, name might be John or Bob or Tom. I wish you the best, even though we may differ on religion, for now. Keep reading that Bible and you may start to see things differently. But KJV is pretty tough. I prefer the English Standard Version, but NIV is also a good, easy to read version. All of them are available on apps and online as well. Take care and stay warm!

    1. bottomlesscoffee007

First of all PK, thanks for participating and reading, I appreciate your comments and support.

Regardless of where I live, my home is my castle, regardless of what is happening outside, my family and I are safe and happy inside of our home.

I think it is actually quite good that we disagree. We bring different perspectives and backgrounds and experience to the table. The more we disagree, the stronger all of us become. Iron sharpens iron.

Sorry about the mix up with cancer and all. Now I remember you writing about your kid.

Anyhow, will you be taking requests from your readers for next week?

  6. I read over all of your answers and I have a decent idea of your age. If you helped with Katrina, you were either @ Polk or stationed in Texas.

And, you stated that you weren’t handy but…you are in construction…?

I’m working on your “26 Questions” post. Past that, you got more questions?

          1. Nah. No profiles. But, mysteries intrigue me.

I am a curious cat. Always have been. I love truth. I’ve had people get aggravated with me because I ask questions. “Why do you want to know?” Because I do. I don’t use anything against anyone. That is needlessly cruel. But…knowledge helps with understanding. The more we understand about our world & each other, the better off ALL of us will be.

I’m not a true believer of Myers-Briggs as I know its history but…having taken it three times, I always come back as “a walking storehouse of information”.

      1. I’m aware of that. I was living in Texas when Katrina hit & was working for the Veterans Land Board. Some of my co-workers were reservists.

The first to respond were the Guardsmen. When the levees failed, NORTHCOM was activated. They pulled Fort Gordon, the 82nd from Bragg and, then, Fort Hood. And, naturally, Army Corps of Engineers.

Yes. I was guessing. You weren’t Communications, you weren’t Airborne and you weren’t Logistics. So, either local (close by) or…Guardsman (states will send support from anywhere; the Army is a little more picky…that Posse Comitatus thing). You could have hitched a ride from Gordon, I suppose but, they were needed for Communications. Benning & Stewart weren’t activated. Mississippi doesn’t have an Army base. Fort Sam Houston wasn’t activated but, it was close. Fort Bliss wasn’t needed.

          1. Oh. Of course not. Bragg is THE largest US base (population-wise) in the world. I grew up 2 1/2 hours from Fayettenam. But, for Katrina…only certain groups were pulled. Why pull an 11M/11B from Bragg for non-specific assistance when there are plenty in the surrounding area of the disaster. That would be a poor use of resources…no offense.
