How Well Do You Know Those Around You and How Honest are You With Yourself?

How well do we know those around us? Whether it be family, friends, people at work, or others. How honest are we with ourselves, do we grant the same excuses to others that we grant to ourselves?

I have a few questions, answer at your leisure, I look forward to reading the answers and participating in the discussion.

  1. How would you feel if a teacher at your child’s school supported abortion or had an abortion themselves?

  1. What would you do, if you found out you were being compensated at the lowest rate, in your company/workplace?

  1. Is it anyone else’s business what you are paid, or the benefits that you receive?

  1. How many people do you know are afraid to admit that they voted for Trump, or that they support Trump?

  1. If you were wanted by law enforcement would those around you, turn you in?

  1. If there was a monetary reward placed on your capture, would those around you, turn you in to collect?

  1. Do you say things to simply fit in, are you afraid to speak your mind in public?

  1. Would others refer to you as a racist?

  1. Are you a self-starter or more of a follower, does it depend on who is watching?

  1. Is it more socially acceptable to denounce or support Trump in the circles you associate with?

Bonus Question:

*** Would you honestly hear someone out who fundamentally disagreed with you on every level, would you engage with them in civil conversation?***

    Q. 1. How would you feel if a teacher at your child’s school supported abortion or had an abortion themselves?

    A. 1. I would not want anyone who supports abortion (murder) let alone, murdered their own baby to be anywhere near my children. It would be akin to letting a pedophile be a teacher or a caregiver to a child.

    Q. 2. What would you do, if you found out you were being compensated at the lowest rate, in your company/workplace?

    A. 2. I would first have to step back and assess why I am being paid less than my counterparts. If it was because I was new or because I lacked the education or experience, then I would attribute my low wage to those factors. If none of this was the case, I would simply apply to other companies that paid better, if I was offered a job elsewhere, I would bring this to the attention of my supervisor and use it as a bargaining chip. If I was unable to find another job, I would continue to work. I think jealousy often comes into play in these scenarios, and I may be too quick to judge. patience is the name of this game. If it didn’t work out after years, perhaps I might want to look into another career.

    Q. 3. Is it anyone else’s business what you are paid, or the benefits that you receive?

    A. 3. No, a flat out no, my pay was negotiated by me and the hiring manager. I don’t want anyone else knowing what I make.

    Q. 4. How many people do you know are afraid to admit that they voted for Trump, or that they support Trump?

    A. 4. None that I am aware of.

    Q. 5. If you were wanted by law enforcement would those around you, turn you in?

    A. 5. I think thats a definite possibility.

    Q. 6. If there was a monetary reward placed on your capture, would those around you, turn you in to collect?

    A. 6. Without a doubt.

    Q. 7. Do you say things to simply fit in, are you afraid to speak your mind in public?

    A. 7. I usually don’t say things to fit in, but at the same time, I am afraid to speak my mind in public.

    Q. 8. Would others refer to you as a racist?

    A. 8. I have been called a racist before.

    Q. 9. Are you a self-starter or more of a follower, does it depend on who is watching?

    A. 9. I am a self starter without a doubt, I am very task oriented and results driven.

    Q. 10. Is it more socially acceptable to denounce or support Trump in the circles you associate with?

    A. 10. It is socially unacceptable to denounce Trump, too often it seems that criticism is lacking, since Trump is so personal to those who voted for him.

    BONUS QUESTION

    Q. *** Would you honestly hear someone out who fundamentally disagreed with you on every level, would you engage with them in civil conversation?***

    A. I would, that is the reason for this Blog, to speak openly and honestly with those whom I disagree with. To hear each other out, regardless of stance.

  2. 1. N/A, but I support abortion for women.
    2. I work for myself
    3. No !!
    4. I hope there’s millions , N/A
    5. Not sure, hopefully not.
    6. I think I’m safe, but they would definitely tease me about it, and say they’re going to !!
    7. I speak my mind, that’s why I got arrested
    8. Friends that know me would say no.
    9. Yes, I’m a self starter, after a period of procrastinating.
    10. N/A
Bonus. I hear them out, and then civilly converse, but not preach, everyone has a right to their opinion, whether I agree or not.

  3. Much food for thought. I will answer some. I agree with you on 2 & 3. 5&6 probably not. 7. No I don’t say things just to fit in but when in public I will sometimes keep my mouth shut. 8. Many years ago I was accused by an employee of being racist because she received a disciplinary notice from me. What she didn’t know but my superiors did was at the time I (a white woman) was engaged to a black man. 9. Probably more of a self starter. 10. To keep peace I avoid talking politics.

  4. How would you feel if a teacher at your child’s school supported abortion or had an abortion themselves?

I think it’s a private thing. Whether I agree with it, or not, I do not need to know about it. I’d hope that teacher teaches my kid well, and does not talk about unrelated subjects to the kids (i.e. abortion).

What would you do, if you found out you were being compensated at the lowest rate, in your company/workplace?

Been there, done that. Not much you can do. I was also in a position when I earned more than others in comparable positions. You can always ask for a raise, but that doesn’t mean there will not be a million and one excuses thrown at you.

Is it anyone else’s business what you are paid, or the benefits that you receive?

This is something that drives me absolutely insane, when I get asked how much I earn. None of your business.

How many people do you know are afraid to admit that they voted for Trump, or that they support Trump?

    Quite a few.

If you were wanted by law enforcement would those around you, turn you in?

    I don’t think I’d trust anyone 100%. I wouldn’t give them a chance to betray me.

If there was a monetary reward placed on your capture, would those around you, turn you in to collect?

Some probably would. While others, I would hope would not. But it depends on the amount.

Do you say things to simply fit in, are you afraid to speak your mind in public?

Definitely not afraid. There have been situations in which I keep silent (instead of speaking my mind), but I never agree with something just to “fit in”.

Would others refer to you as a racist?

I was told I were a racist in the past, but people who know me, and/or those who can think for themselves know I am not.

Are you a self-starter or more of a follower, does it depend on who is watching?

    Self-starter.

Is it more socially acceptable to denounce or support Trump in the circles you associate with?

Both. I know all sorts of people.

  5. 1. I don’t have kids, and wouldn’t send them to school if I did.
    2. I’m not currently employed
    3. Not really.
    4. No – because I don’t really know any persons who voted for Trump (or for Clinton, for that matter); I’m an Aussie (and the Americans I know online haven’t talked about voting).

  6. How would you feel if a teacher at your child’s school supported abortion or had an abortion themselves?
That’s their business. I’m assuming they didn’t go and get their abortion lightly. It has nothing to do with whether or not they are capable of teaching, and I could be reasonably sure they wouldn’t try to abort my children.

What would you do, if you found out you were being compensated at the lowest rate, in your company/workplace?
I know for sure what I would do, because this is happened. I would approach my boss about it, be told it’s so that I have room to grow, get bitter, mope, look for a new job to no avail.

Is it anyone else’s business what you are paid, or the benefits that you receive?
Yep. State funded. It’s literally everyone’s business, haha. I don’t care. Maybe if I made a million dollars and didn’t want anyone to fake friend me for my money, but as it stands, who cares about my pitiful salary?

How many people do you know are afraid to admit that they voted for Trump, or that they support Trump?
How should I know? If they’re afraid they won’t talk about it?

If you were wanted by law enforcement would those around you, turn you in?
Hopefully not my friends and family but my acquaintances and coworkers? Sure they would.

If there was a monetary reward placed on your capture, would those around you, turn you in to collect?
Same as above. Though the monetary reward would tempt more of them.

Do you say things to simply fit in, are you afraid to speak your mind in public?
I try not to lie. I’m not afraid to speak my mind for the most part, but I do hold my tongue in an effort to spare feelings and avoid drama/confrontation.

Would others refer to you as a racist?
I hope not? If I’m racist, no one’s told me!

Are you a self-starter or more of a follower, does it depend on who is watching?
Not sure, a little of both

Is it more socially acceptable to denounce or support Trump in the circles you associate with?
Everyone hates Trump where I am! Except for one friend of mine, and my dad, who like him.

    Bonus Question:

*** Would you honestly hear someone out who fundamentally disagreed with you on every level, would you engage with them in civil conversation?***
    NEEEVERRR!!! Just kidding.
