Thinking About Deleting The Poll at the Bottom of Each Article

I’ve been contemplating deleting the poll that shows up at the bottom of most of my posts. I think that for some reason it’s the same poll that has the same tally and for some reason it’s not singular to the article that is above it. It seems to have the same results and amount of participants regardless of the topic. I either set it up wrong or it is faulty.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. I am still trying to gain followers and would appreciate any advice or assistance. I understand the topics that I discuss can be touchy or crude, but I do honestly think that it’s a solid blog.

  1. I liked your polls, but did not know that they do not work as intended. If the numbers don’t add up to you, I’d get rid of it. I understand what you were trying to do, but I think comments and likes are a great alternative to such polls.

Yeah, I dig the poll, but it seems to only record the highest poll. I need to play around with it. Or just delete it. Thanks for your input.

If you go through the posts with the poll, it seems like the results are always the same, with the same amount of participants.

  2. I prefer commenting. There might be elements I agree or disagree with or want to expand on a point so from my perspective comments are better because it can turn into a discussion.

  3. 🙂 I rather comments than polls, because a person can go a step further by telling you in the comments section of your blog the reason why they agree or disagree with a subject.

  4. I’m not sure I noticed it before. If it’s getting good data then keep and grow it. It could use a bit more focus on the article it’s related to instead of agree or disagree.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Yes, I had noticed similar results in all of the polls (which I haven’t seen on any of your recent articles – apart from this one). If it’s faulty, then there’s no point in keeping it.

Yeah, I’ve tried playing around with it, but I am incredibly computer illiterate. Thanks for the advice.

  6. I don’t have a poll. The stats show up at the bottom of each post, in addition to the stats page, so that’s plenty of info for me. 🤷‍♀️

Advice… I am still new to this also but I did find that “conversation” goes a long way when it comes to gaining followers. People visit those who comment and like their post. You know… the ones that show interest are the ones you “prefer” to visit because it is “2-way”. Best of luck.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I’m just playing around to see what works the best and what attracts the most.

Thanks to everyone who helped me decide what to do with my poll. I decided not to delete it. When I began my blog, I told myself that I would never go back and change something that I had published. If I thought it was good enough to publish when I did, then it would be dishonest to change it later, when I changed my mind, or when I found faults in my older articles. I will not be deleting my poll, I will simply not add it to any further posts for now. If I ever figure out how to make a better poll, maybe then.
